Catholic Teens - September 20, 2005
Sorry I missed last week. It's been very busy, and I'm sure you feel the
same way with school and everything else on your plates. Without further
ado...

Question of the Week:
"Why can't we dance or get excited in Church?"
-Good question. We can get excited in Church, but there are appropriate
ways of doing so. Think about it like this--you have the opportunity to
meet the president at the White House. Would you be excited? Of course.
Would you jump up and down right in front of him? Of course not, you would
smile and shake his hand. That would be an appropriate way. Now think of
showing excitement at a football game. The crazier and more excited you are
for your team, the better. However, when we come into the House of God,
with Jesus present in the Tabernacle, we are reverent--giving praise to God
in our singing and in our disposition. It's our time to talk to God, to
pray, to rest in His Peace and silence. (Think about it--how much quiet
time do teenagers really have???? Almost none) Enjoy it :-) And enjoy the
peace God wants to give you. There's lots of other time for dancing.
