Catholic Teens - September 7, 2005

Hey All--
We continue to pray for our brothers and sisters in the New Orleans area.
Imagine being evacuated from your home--and not being allowed to return for
up to 3 months--having to leave your pets and most of your belongings behind- -living in a shelter, totally dependent on others generosity for the
foreseeable future. And due to looters and other damage, not knowing what
you'll be returning too when it is all over. That's what faces so many of
these people. May God give them strength and courage during this time of
trial.

Question of the Week:
-Continuing with the questions concerning other religions we have, "Are
Christians better than Muslims or Hindus?"
---All people are created in the image and likeness of God. All are
therefore loved by God.
How do you determine one person is better then another? It's not
possible. God alone can judge a person's heart. At the same time, no one
would argue that Mother Teresa was a much better person then say Hitler.
Each person, created by God, is called to love and serve God to the best of
their ability. Each person is called to seek the Truth to the best of their
ability. Now Christians, Muslims, and Hindu's all teach different things
about God---and even opposite things that can't all possibly be true. It's
the role of each person to discern the truth of God. As Christians, we have
been given much in that regard, the Scriptures, the revelation of Jesus, and
His Church. These are the tools we've received to aid us to know the Truth
about God, and thereby love and serve Him.
