Catholic Teens 5-15-07

Hey All—

Here is a wonderful quote from St. Francis de Sales.
Jesus is the teacher of holiness. I go to Him because I want Him to teach me how to become a Saint. Of what use to me is all I learn in school if I do not become holy?-- St. Francis DeSales
Now, don’t use this as an excuse to slack off in school! Instead, it should inspire you. What is the purpose of your life? To join God in Heaven---and everyone in heaven is a “saint”. Our 8th Grade CCD teacher will sometimes put up a comparison on the chalk board concerning the value of various endeavors. School, job, money, vacations….all are temporary. Prayer, Mass, living a good life….those are all eternal. Which lasts longer? J
You can be the smartest man in the world, but if you don’t live with God, where are you going to end up? And I doubt the devil will be impressed by how smart you are.
To use another example, former president Bill Clinton is a lot “smarter” then Mother Teresa ever was. Who made more of a positive impact on the world?
Use your learning as a way to become holier and you’ll change the world…and stay on the road to Heaven as well.
